Orphanage Outreach in Africa
The situation of vulnerable children in orphanages across Africa at the best of times is bad, much more so now, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant economic / health impact across board.
In December of 2020, we initiated the Orphanage Outreach in Africa program through which, with support from partners, we support orphanages across Africa. Our quarterly support cover the following:
- Provision of nutritional food items / grocery
- Provision of hygienic products
- Clothing and Footwear for all children
- Education – School fees and school supplies
- Orphanage infrastructural repairs / maintenance
- Christmas Party for Children (Partners are invited to join via Zoom)
The impact of our first orphanage outreach brought to the fore, the real situation of helpless children in orphanages across Africa. The deplorable living conditions in the orphanage homes, health, and nutritional condition of the children our team reported and documented on video and pictures are quite frankly, heart-wrenching.
At Echoes Africa Initiatives, we believe children are not responsible for their own existence and no child deserves to be in the situation these orphans find themselves. We are more than ever, committed to helping improve the lives of these kids. Ours is a hands-on, direct-impact approach with our team personally distributing items and supervising the projects we fund at the orphanages. We report back to every donor, specifying exactly what their donation was used to accomplish.
