BEAM Mentorship

Available negative indices ultimately reduce the number of potential young minority working force in the society, thereby creating a leadership gap. As this gap widens, it becomes inevitable that efforts be made to combat them, to avoid leadership crisis within this group in the next decades, with specific reference to the female population.

The quest to identify, help develop and nurture a new crop of future women leaders from minority communities informed the conceptualization of the BEAM Mentoring Program.

The BEAM program is designed to enable mentors give back to marginalized communities as it seeks to produce a crop of future leaders from the minority group who could potentially become role models to others.

Our target group are females ages 13 – 18; some of whom face various challenges that could potentially prevent them from attaining their full potential. They possess immense talent but also face myriad of issues.

While our mentoring program is aimed at guiding and building the character, confidence, and leadership abilities of our target population, we also aid our young ladies in college application, career choice / plan, resume / interview preparedness, professional development, job search guide, skills acquisition, and good communication skills.

                                              Our Values and Beliefs

Social Impact

We strive every day, by the hour, minute and second, to improve the life of just one person. And, over a long term, increase our impact by touching as many lives as we can, and by extension, inspire those whose lives we have touched, to follow suit. If only one mentee ends up becoming a mentor herself, then we term the program, successful.

Build a community

We create meaningful connections- with our team, those we serve, our partners and everyone we come in contact within the process of carrying out our activities. One of our objectives with the BEAM project is to help the girls build a community among themselves, develop a kinship, and be one another’s keeper.

Drive Change

We drive change by leading the change train- taking the famous advice of Mahatma Gandhi “Be the change you want to see in the world.” We see the gaps in the communities we serve and look for ways to fill those gaps.

Good Stewardship

We do not take the opportunity to serve lightly. We take care of all that’s entrusted to us and account for each one.

Excellence

We aim at excellence in all that we do. We give our best and strive to always improve ourselves and let others know we expect the same mindset from them. Integrity and service is our attitude.
